Gluing up thin rings

When I glue up my segmented rings, I use hose clamps. But I would like to make some rings that are thinner than the thickness of the hose clamps. How do you guys clamp up thin rings and keep them flat?

I do not clamp the individual segments, just rub them together until they feel "sticky" and let the glue set.

I have seen people use rubber bands.

I make 1/4 circle segment subassemblies. If the angles are off I may correct a 1/4 circle, but I prefer to correct and deviation when I have the 1/2 circle glued.

Once I have a full circle I flatten this with my FlatMaster sander or Performax 16/32 drum sander.

If you do not know what a FlatMaster sander looks like, here is a link. A drum sander with the drum under the table.
