Gave away my favorite bowl today

I work grounds maintenance at a water park in se ky
this was a farm owned by a man that lives behinde the park and i have gotten to know him and his wife quite well in the last 8 yrs
last year i found a cherry log down by the creek here at the park so i sawed it up and turned one piece almost imediently.
it was green so it warped
this has always been my favorite piece.
anyway i gave it to my friends today
they loved it more than i did
this was their farm for 60 yrs
Merry Christmas All

Cool, makes ya feel good, don't it?

"Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer, 'Am I worth dying for?'"

Eleanor Roosevelt

Nice thing to do Robert.
I give away a good number of my turnings. Either they go to a person who has helped me or someone in my family, or a good customer that treated me well when I was working for them.

I give my stuff away too, but it's because that's the only way I can get rid of it.
Seriously though, it does seem to mean a lot to folks when you give them something made from their own tree. Good job on the gesture and the turning.

Nice gesture, I am sure the sentimental value to them makes it priceless
