Funny story

I was in the mall and decided to go look at the Mont Blanc pens that people claim are so nice. Most of these pens or like the designer series PSI pens with a little nicer Tips, clips and such but they are roller ball. They are made of black resin and he has his monogram on the clip or something. Anyway I already was not impressed to say the least when the salesman comes over to help me. He offers me a special Edition Pen to look at that really didn't look much different then the others. I was looking at the price tag as he suggested I write with it to see how it felt. It was a good thing I didn't drop the pen right there because the tag said $1995.00 which is just a smidgen overpriced. I started to write with this $2000 pen but the damn thing wouldn't write. The salesmen already had a surprised look on his face but it didn't help that I said " Damn, you would think a $2000 pen would write" So now the embarrassed worried salesmen says let me try that, As if I didn't know how to use a pen. So the pen still don't right and he says i'll have to get another cartridge for it. I wait just for the hell of it because I am in no way spending $2000 on a pen even if it does write. He comes back and explains that he has the wrong cartridge for that pen. My response was "So it's still broke." I then took out my Koa Burl Pen that I was on my way to deliver and said "That's Ok I made this one, sold it for $35 and it writes."

You should have offered to sell him yours. Just for him, today only, half price!! You could probably let him have your pen for the low price of $1000.00. He would probably jump at the opportunity. What a deal.
Way to stick it to 'em Rich.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

Something similar happened to me two weeks ago at a Home and Garden/Sport Show. A customer walks up and said these are really nice pens you have. Your pens are underpriced and better than the ones the specialty shop sells up the road at twice the price, and then he said “no wonder he has a problem selling them”. The ad for his store on the radio brags about the fact that they are made by some artist out west.

Fantastic story, glad you had the patience to see that through! Beautiful pens by the way, at a much more reasonable price. :)

I want to die quietly in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers of his car.

Top 10 Most Expensive Pens In The World

Ball Points
http://www.coloradopen.com/category/ballpoint-pens

Fountain pen commands a higher price than ballpoints. There are well known custom ballpoint pen makers that have no problem selling their original designed pens for $1,000 plus. Very few kit maker pens get close to selling for $1,000.

We live in a world where a single pen costing $3.99 considered expensive. You can buy a bag of BIC pens for less than $3.99 any day of the week. The total cost of cheapest pen kit I make runs about $13.00. That dollar amount does not include my labor or total indirect cost to make a pen. These polaris click pens not the cheapest or highest cost kits I make.
