First try at a post

This mid size Walnut lidded box is 4 ¼ X 6 finished with mineral oil and waiting to be buffed. The Cole jaws spit it out and wedged it between the tool rest and the pins on the Cole jaw. Cut a deep groove all the way around the rim. After digging it out of the burn bucket the next day I turned the gouge deeper and added some texturing. Guess it is now a save!
Thanks for looking…..Bill

Lidded box

Very nice looking box. It's funny how mistakes cause design changes
that some time result in a better finish product. This has happened to me more than once. Your proportions on the box look perfect.

Bill You had to ruin it and tell me how the texturing came about I really love the ring. You need to do that often. You could texture the top to match. Did you use a Dremel for the texturing.
I like your box very much, great save.

Yes John a Dremel was used. I aspire to do a top like the ones you "carved" out with your router setup. Thanks Rich! The comments are appreciated!...Bill...
