Finishing Bowls

I have only turned a few bowls and I have finished all of them using Snow River oil. I loke the idea of using something food safe but ass the bowl dries out it will need more oil. This is fine for ones I keep for myself, But I plan on giving some away. I would like to tell people what kind of oil to put on the bowl if it starts to dry out. Are there any common household oils that could be used instead like peanut oil that would bring the bowl back to life but still be food safe? Any other finishing suggestions ar welcome as well. Thanks!!!

put something like salad bowl finish on it. It wont dry out and in my opinion its a much nicer finish than oil.
