A few more bowls

Since I had to stay home with my son today, I had a chance to finish these two bowls. The first one checked quite a bit, but I was able to turn it, albeit slowly and carefully.

I thought this one was going to be much larger, but there was so much rot I was lucky to get this out of it. It's got character and I like that.

The clean side

not only does it have character, it has a very distinctive form -- I really like it

Doug,
Those are nice bowls. I like the bark inclusion on the second one.

Both turned out good. Any bowl that has some oddity about it is a good thing. Bark inclusions are a good thing.

They both look good but I agree with the sentiment on the second one. The inclusion does give it a little more interest. I like the shape of it too.

Those look great. I really like the "character" of the one bowl. I'm a huge fan of imperfections in wood and this just works for me. Fantastic job on both projects. Love it.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

Thanks for all the kind words. I hope to get better and maybe try a segmented bowl some time soon.
