Different works

I posted some pictures of some of my turned turkey calls. This is some of my woodduck ( not as in wooden duck) calls. For those who havent seen a drake woodduck, google one and you will see on of the most beautiful birds God ever created. Not to mention they make great table fare
From l-r: catalpa with a woodduck feather in the finish, cocobolo, cypress, red palm and big leaf maple with a woodduck feather in it.

I agree. You cant find a prettier animal than a drake woodie. How did you finish the feather into the call?

Wow, those are really nice. I love the shape and the finish. Great work.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

Cool! I'd have to second your feelings about wood ducks! I use the feathers for fly tying....

Time consuming. BUt I use a CA finish, I will apply a coat of thin, then take a feather and hold it on the call, apply another layer of thin to hold the feather in place, then use a medium thickness CA to fill in the feather
