Curly maple box

So I had some time to kill this morning and hadn't turned a box in quite a while, so I thought I'd brush the cobwebs out of the old noodle and give it a go. Pic shows a slight tear out in the lid but (honestly) in person you can't even see it. Finished with 5 coats of Doctor's Woodshop shellac/wax/walnut oil finish (have I told you all how much I really like this finish ) on the outside and lemon oil wax on the inside (no nasty smells). This one is a gift for a client at my day job. Enjoy.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Robbie, as you can see it doesn't have to be much, just enough to give it that little shadow line or appearance of lift. Makes a huge difference.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...
