Buying maple burl

There's a guys booth at a local flea market and he has a few odds and end pieces of wood. He's got a few pieces of cherry and two boards of spalted maple burl. They appear good and dry with just a little crack in one board, boards are about 3/4 thick 8in wide about 4ft long, he's asking $15 for one board and $20 for the other, is that a deal?? Also it's one of those places where it's just his booth so you can't really haggle with the guy.

That calculates out to 2 board feet per board. $15 and $20 per board foot seems steep. What are you going to do with it?

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

nonsense, there is always room to haggle. sorry i don't have any experience buying burls. If it is worth it to you then it is a good price. offer 50% and settle for 75%.

2 board feet would = half asking price per BF.
Just my 2 cents.

I mean you can't haggle, cause the guys not there, it's just a booth, then you pay up front. The individuals set up booths inside the flea market.
