Bushing questions

new to the truning world, so i might be asking some silly questions. But this last weekend i went to visti my mother and she went out and bout the projects she wnat me to make for her. but she did nto get the bushings. fo example she got a soft grip click pen from the rocklar store. can i get the softgrip bushing from the woodcraft store and they be the same bushing?

Thanks

bushings can get confusing... several stores will carry the same kit and call it a different name. Some will look the same but be different.

You could take the kit up to Woodcraft and talk to the guys there, maybe even hold the bushing up to the hardware to compare.

The other option is to skip the bushing and turn between centers and use a caliper.

I have a chart that I got on the IAP website that basically groups the pens by name, who sells them and then gives all kinds of diameters of the tubes, bushings and part #'s. I comes in very handy. PM me with your email and I will send it to you.
