Burl Sources

Can anyone direct my to a good source for burls? I emailed a member of this forum but never received a response. I am looking for turning stock in the 2X2X? range, and pieces that would make small bowls about 7 1/2" in diameter and aprox 3" to 4" deep.

Check with the local tree services, small sawmills nearby, a neighbor who burns wood. A really funkey piece of wood nobody but a turner would look at can be turned into some of the best pieces.

Bob, I have not used them yet personally but have heard very good things about them from several folks.

Bad Dog Burls: http://www.burlsource.com/

Good luck in your hunt.

Thanks for the info I will check them out. I think I will also check out a few local tree services, that is a good suggestion.
