Bottle stoppers!

Alright, ya'll started this...
I never had any intention to turn these...
It's YOUR fault!

next, I'll be turning 'shrooms!

Thanks for looking!

p
Three made of oak, from the back 40...

Three wenge, including one end grain...

Two on the left are afzalia lay, and one more funky oak...

...ever notice how "I'm sorry" and "I apologize" mean the same thing, unless you are at a funeral..?

Those are Beautiful. What kind of finish are you using? I hope to start making stoppers in a week or so.

Paulie,
Those are nice looking stoppers. That's really some pretty oak.

Don, the "shiny-er" ones have a coupla coats of WOP...
The more "satin-y" have a single coat of BLO...
None of which are finished being finished yet!

Mike, the oak fell out of my "yard" onto the fence and into my neighbor's pasture =/-3 years ago...

A coupla years ago, he tried to split it up for firewood, but failed miserably due to the "twist" in the grain...

I cut a few chunks off then for reasons still unknown...
This was well before I received a lathe.

I really need to get back out there to see if'n the lumber is any good now.
I suspect that there may be some spalting going on by now, or it is rotten beyond hope.

Thanks,
p

How about some shroom bottle stoppers? Nice work.

A wise man once told me, "Relax and enjoy life, cause you'll never get out of here alive." RIP Dad
