Blank Pieces

Ok wood turners.....i have a question. what does everyone do with the 3/4 inch (or more) pieces of material they have left over after you cut a pen piece to length? i have several of them and don't know what to do with them. can you make something else out of them? i hate for them to go to waste.

Keychains, bookmarks, golf tools (craftsupplyusa), jewelry, fridge magnets, etc. Let your imagination run wild.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Spindle tops for lidded boxes.
Glue and make a segmented pen or box
I think someone already said, you are only limited by your imagination.

props for photos and test finishes

If it's wood I haven't used before, I'll chuck the cut-off piece and see what it's like turned, test finishes, etc.

Then, after I've made a pen, use it as a prop in the photo ... here's a piece of lignum vitae holding up a pen from the same blank.

Of course! I totally forgot that the center band in the pen I posted above is a slice of katalox from the leftovers
