Beginner Call Turning

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and I am very excited (to say the least) to start turning duck calls on a mini wood lathe. I have been an avid waterfowl hunter for years now, and I would like to explore the art of call making. I have decided on a few lathes to purchase, the variable speed Jet mini lathe, being my main choice. I am not familiar with lathe tools, chucks, tapers, etc. I am hoping to get some advice on where to start, as for tools needed. Im thinking hand tools, type of chuck, mandrels??, and any other items needed... Thanks!
