basswood turning

This is green turning that I thought would be easier than it turned out to be. I knew I should have started over when it decided to come loose from the face plate and ended up gluing it on. So now it's not 100% centered and turned most of the way, with that said I concentrated on the outside got it smooth and the inside as best as possible without putting a hole in the side of it, came close to doing so. thought I would put a light coat of poly on it an when I did the snow This was going to be a gift for my Mom but now I really think thats out of the picture.

I like it, need to get a nice polish on it and you'll see all kinds of neat stuff going on in the wood. Don't know why but looks like it would make a cool candy dish.

A wise man once told me, "Relax and enjoy life, cause you'll never get out of here alive." RIP Dad
