Question Antique (Calvert) Old English Chess set- Advice on Restoring

Just picked up a lovely Old English chess set in Boxwood and Ebony(?)- It is missing two black pieces and i hoped to try and turn replacements. But i need help identifying the exact wood of the black pieces. A friend told me it was Macassar ebony, but it looks to me like Rosewood.. Any ideas??

White side is boxwood i'm pretty sure, darkened with a nice patina.

Very excited about this set, best quality one i've found in a while and i really want to bring it back to completeness

Many thanks,
