Another wood score

Just picked up another trunk full of free wood for turning. On the right is pear, the middle is some norway maple (not spalted), on the far left is a piece of elm. Will Anchorseal the ends of the logs soon. Should I split the logs lengthwise in half right away or wait until I'm ready to rough turn them? The smaller logs are to play with spindle turning.

Steve if it was me i'd cut the pith out as soon as you can, then anchorseal them. I have some maple a guy brought me from MI that was sealed in log form, it has already started to crack at the pith.

Good deal. Once free wood starts coming in, it comes from everywhere.

Tomorrow I'm picking up a trunk full of tulip and linden logs. A final trip of maple after that and I think I'll be stocked up for the winter.
