Welcome aboard. Your last sentence is kind of confusing. I don't know if your thanking me for answering something on segmented turning, or asking a question on how. Without a doubt the easiest way to answer is to tell you to buy Malcom Tibbets book on Segmented turning. Of all the books I have this one is the best, the clearest, and his methods work. And it's also a fairly inexpensive book.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Malcom+Tibbets+The+art+of+segmented+turning&x=18&y=23 He also has some excellent DVD's so I hear. I have not seen any of them yet but knowing Malcom they will be excellent.

Welcome! I know I lurked here for a while before I started sharing, but this is a great place to get information as well as share some of your projects. I always like to see what other people are making so I can improve what I do or get ideas for new projects.

I want to die quietly in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers of his car.

Welcome!
We were all Noobs once, some of us (me) still are!

Don't be timid, the folks here really do want to see our work, and will offer good advice on just about anything to do with woodworking.

...and you are required to show yer work, just like in algebra class!

Good luck!

p

...ever notice how "I'm sorry" and "I apologize" mean the same thing, unless you are at a funeral..?
