Alabaster turning

I was looking at the site John Lucas recommended in another topic and I saw people turning Alabaster stone. Anyone ever done this? If so is it as much fun as I am imagining and where do you get this stone?

there was an article in the last issue of Woodturning Design on turning Alabaster. One time at a Demo Rude Osolnik was asked what kind of lathe do you use to turn Alabaster. Rude said "someone elses" Apparently it's rather abrasive and dusty.
I've never done it but I've seen some great examples of work at various galleries and symposiums. I think they use mostly scrapers and of course really good dust collection.
I think you can find quite a bit of information on the web by just doing searches on turning alabaster or buying alabaster.
