6/4 x 9'' blanks good for anything?

not a serious turner but found a piece I can cut some birds eye pine into bigger chunks mostly 1 3/4" x 8-9". as it is really hard to find the cut and wastes alot wood, is there anything worth turning out of it and can you turn knots? if so then I can cut them longer

Could turn shallow bowls or small platters out of that size. I've not tried turning knotty wood, but as long as they're tight and your tools are sharp I don't see why itwould be a problem.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...

Absolutely, it could be good for something like this. I've turned wood with knots, not much fun, I'd rather they just fall out and leave a hole but that's just me.

I've turned pine with knots quite a bit for some practice. For example gluing a few of them together to make a larger peice. But it turns quite well and personally didn't have a problem as long as my tools are sharp.
