200yr old Sycamore

A wood score, 200yr old Sycamore Tree. We will be cutting on this for a while. My son standing next to the base after we removed 4 ft. only 70 ft more to go,,,,lol

Wowser!!! There's a bunch of lumber there as well as turning blanks. Should keep you busy for a long time.

If somebody offered me a piece of wood that size, I would have no idea where to start

I predict (1) you will have lots of work chopping this down to pieces you can actually handle, and (2) you will have lots of new friends, some of whom might even be willing to help you

Congrats on the tree......MUCH wood and fun to come from there.

Is there different types of Sycamore???? The bark and leaves doesn't match what we call Sycamore here. Ours is a slick type bark very easily spotted from a distance.
