Planer/Jointer Knife Setting Jigs question

Are there any planer/jointer knife setting jigs that could possibly help with setting hand held power planer blades? It would be amazing if I could get those blades flush with each other and the back plate.

Go to the web site and search for magnetic jointer blade jig... or just search for simple jointer knives and the jig will come up.

Its' never hot or cold in New Hampshire... its' always seasonal.

magnetic jigs are not gonna work

The base plates are aluminum, so magnets won't work. If your power planer is a newer model changing the blades is easy:

If it's older and has slots, then you will have some issues. You could use a clear piece if Plexi to register the blades against and still see what you are doing. Snug the blade gently and then press them down against the Plexi or vise versa and then tighten them. I can't remember how mine on the older Craftsman PP were aligned when I replace them. Sorry.

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)
