Hi im newish to working with wood and ive always fancied building a PC case from wood after i seen some nice ones online, i have taking everything into consideration such as air flow n all that but what im not sure about is how i would go about attaching the wood pieces together,
For this one im just sticking with a basic pc tower shape with a few things done to the side but still keeping the initial shape basically a rectangular shape. Im looking to get as clean a finish as possible
so if anyone could point me in the right direction i would be extremely happy
1) A PC case does a lot more than hold the components together. It provides some EM shielding for components both inside and outside. It controls airflow. In some cases (though I haven't seen it in any recent cases) it provides a ground for components. You say you've considered everything, so hopefully those are on the list.
2) How to connect the parts depends a LOT on what you're using. If you're using solid wood, you could go with dovetails, splined miters, box joints, or butt joints. You could connect the parts with friction, glue, screws, nails, or some combination or those. If you're using plywood, you could use a drawer lock joint, a miter, or a rabbeted butt joint. The pieces could, again, be attached with glue, nails, screws, or some combination of those.
If it was me, I'd probably try to build it like an old desk, with square posts for the corners, and panels set into grooves in the posts. Ventilation would be provided by slots, or possibly a cutout with a filter built into it. I'd probably cut up an existing case to get the drive mounting bays, and build an internal framework to hold the PSU in place instead of relying on the usual four screws through the back. Depending on how concerned I was about EM filtering, I might line the insides with either thin steel plate or metal mesh screening.
Basically, you haven't given us a lot of information, so there's not much direct advice we can give you.
