M&T repair what do you guys think?

I have a old bench that we grabbed up years again. We it was broken when I grab it for 5.00 just never did anything with it and now its time. I do ALOT of repairs but just cant decide what the best path on this one is because of the ornateness of the leg! Here are a couple pictures of what is 'left"

Without cleaning up the fit, if it's fairly close, just use a two part epoxy.

what about all the splinter/broken missing wood around the tenon. Was thinking bondo and just painting/distressing the bench!

Your first post seemed to be about the joint. Yes, you could use Bondo, and paint.
