Loose post and and stick joint

Cant seem to get a snug fit on when cutting rail and stile on my shaper. Joints fit perfectly top and bottom but seem a little loose for a good glue bond. Im using grizzly reversible rail and stile set and tried adding shims above the bearing on the rail to no effect. Can anyone help?

Did you just buy the set? To me it sounds like the set is defective. You shouldn't have any control of the joint fit. You should only have control of aliening the joint so it goes together with the face flush. Can you post a picture of the joint.

Yes new shaper set C2314-C2317 Reversible from Gizzly. Joint is neart perfect top and bottom. Grizzly has a video on youtube (how to use reversibl rail and stile set) where they say to add a supplied brass shim or shims to the top of the bearing to tighen post.
