Breadboard ends and leg supports or no

I am planning to build a large farmhouse table (108" x 48") out of reclaimed fir. The tabletop will be 2x8s glued. The person I am building it for wants this design.

They do not want any cross supports or breadboard ends.

My question is can I avoid breadboards and lower cross supports on something this size and if yes how can the design be made strong enough without these features?

On the back side of the skirt if you would run a dado before assembling the table you could mount the top with table top clips and that should prevent the top from cup warping as long as you used enough of them on the ends. You might also screw a board or two under the top hidden by the skirt. As long as you elongated the screw holes it should allow for shrinkage.
