Lightbulb Picking some pros Brains...

Hey guys I have been routing bases for acrylic signs on my router and the letter engraving has been a little tricky at times, a thought came to mind on using shoe polish to darken the letters then doing a light finish pass on the base.....anyone have any experience trying this?

Shoe polish is incompatible with any film finish. It would be alright if you were going to use an oil or wax finish.

Will keep that in mind. I actually ended up turning down the power on the laser to engrave the lettering on the angle.
