Hey nothing wrong at all with just shaving wood to shave! To each their own, I enjoy it as well. Thanks for sharing your own whittling experience.

New to whittling -- I've only done it a few times but I think I can make decent mountain men now.
I have a staff I carved a while ago, when I get good enough, might want to try carving something on its handle!
