Gourd carving - Good source for dried gourds?

My father is trying his hand at carving, and seems to be taking interest in dried gourd carving. We don't have a local source for gourds.

If you do gourd carving, where do you go for good quality gourds?

Grow your own or find a farm who does?

A diamond is how coal reacts under pressure.

This was something I mentioned to him at one point. He apparently already did some research and found that it takes about a year to grow and dry them. I don't know if that path is something he's interested in. He hasn't found a local(ish) farm. I think he'd rather just KISS and buy them.
