Arrow How To Insert Images Into Your Posts

There are a couple of methods you can use to add images to your post.

This first method describes how to add an image from your computer.

Enter the comment you want to make...

Then click the attachment icon. (It looks like a paperclip located in the advanced reply mode)

Name: wwt-1.jpg
Views: 300
Size: 54.1 KB

A small window will pop up.

Click on "choose file".

Once you click on "choose file" another window will open up for you to navigate to where the image is located on your computer.

When you have located the image, clicking on it will automatically enter the file name of the image. Once that happens, click on "open".

Name: wwt-5.jpg
Views: 291
Size: 59.2 KB

You will then need to click the upload button. If you do not see it you may need to scroll to the right of the small window until you do.

Once that is done...

Simply click on the paperclip icon again and select the image you want to insert by clicking on the file name. This will insert the image to your post.

If you have images stored online, you can also share the image here by direct URL of the image itself. Click on the icon that looks like a graphic of a mountain range.

Name: wwt-8.jpg
Views: 285
Size: 46.5 KB

A window will open asking for the URL of the image. Please note that it must be the image URL not the page URL. Enter the URL and click "OK".

Size: 14.8 KB

The code for the image will automatically be added for you.

The image will be displayed at the maximum size allowed in this community. If the image you choose using this method is too large, it will automatically resize it for you with an option for the viewers to see it larger.

Please note, that you should not use this method to display images that are not yours or that you do not have full permission to share as this may violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Inserting Flickr Images

If you have a Flickr account and want to display an image from there here in the community, Flickr provides the code for you.

Simply go to the image on Flickr that you want to share.

Depending on your version, you will either see a curved arrow to the side of the image or below it. When you click on it, a new window will open.

Name: wwt-flickr.jpg
Views: 280
Size: 43.0 KB

There will be an option to choose BB Code. Click on that. It will then offer you size options and will give you the code to add to your post.

The image will be displayed at the maximum size allowed in this community. If the image you choose using this method is too large, it will automatically resize it for you with an option for the viewers to see it larger like in the example below.

When inserting multiple images or code to your posts, please make sure to put each image (or code) on a new line.

Name: code.jpg
Views: 403
Size: 35.0 KB

If you can't see the code, then simply make sure to add a line or two between each picture.

This is an FAQ tutorial thread. If you have additional questions or need help with this topic, please start a new thread in our Site Help and Suggestions section.
