Yes, My slot is 1 1/8" as well, and goes 240 degrees around. On my other Thein separators (one like the original, and a topper), I have the slot ending basically right before my intake, and then starting wherever the 240 degrees took me.

I watched these videos on youtube and it appears he has the slot location wrong based on your design and others.

I did just post a question on the thein forum about the actual location of the slot in a topper. I guess we will find out what they say on there.

One other thing for anyone that is making a Thein separator... Mr Thein was gracious enough to share his design with us. He could have profitted from it by patenting it, but he decided not to. I think it is only fair, that if you use his design, to toss him few bucks as a "thank-you." He has a link on his main page, and he even thanks those that do donate.... (you can see he thanked me on 11/6/11). I know I have now used it 3 times, and I have suggested others to make one many times. It is by far the most frugal way to have an efficient DC.

Fabian

I used to be fairly indecisive, but now....... I'm not so sure.
