you say goodbye - i say hello ( again )

heres what happened .......

i did system restore on my computer and lost EVERYTHING. including pics of my furniture and my passcode to woodworking talk.

the site wouldnt let me in even when i used the 'forgot passcode' link

so i re-registered as route66. hopefully some of you might remember me as bob sacamano.

That stinks Bob. Look into an offsite backup like Crash Plan (which I use) or Carbonite. With something like that it won't happen again. Some specialists may still be able to save your data from that drive.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I use these little thumb drives/travel drives/or whatever you want to call them. I have both 16 gig and 32 gig. I back up everything (all data, pictures, documents, etc) on these at least twice. One set is always kept in a fireproof safe/box.

You cannot have too many backups.

I agree you can never have to many backups. Online backup service is another good idea. Their system is backed up several times to insure no loss of data.
