West Michigan

Iíve been a woodworker for over 20 years now. Iíve been fortunate to learn from my dad who has been at it for close to 45 years. He was a woodshop teacher while school was in, and a cabinet builder during the summer months.

I began working with solid woods, but over the last 10 years or so have really focused on veneer work. Iím sort of itching to get back into solid wood again so I started a set of dining room chairs for our family. I expect there to be a steep learning curve, which is good.

My shop is in my basement (13x26). I pack a fair amount of nice tools in there though. (Delta unisaw with sliding table, jet 16Ē planer, Powermatic 54A, delta drill press , steel city hollow chisel mortiser, etc). Just leaves me minimal room for larger projects. A couple pics below to illustrate what Iím talking about. This is a bed that I worked on for my wife and I last year.

And then the final product..

Night stands are next after the chairs are done. :)

Very nice, Seth! And since this is the introduction subforum, welcome to the Woodworking Talk! Can't wait to see the rest when you get those finished. Will you show those being built or as finished pieces?

S7 from west Michigan, I feel for you. Working on a large project in such a small space has its difficulties. careful planning as you build can take up most the time needed. I know, my shop is also well equipped, and at 13'x 19' I spend a lot of time just moving things around to complete a large project. You may want to add your name to your profile so we know how to address you.

Easy on a computer - top right you'll see User CP. Click that then on the left you'll see Edit Signature and you can put your name there, Seth. Thanks for adding your name!

Iíll see if I can log on today. I donít use the computer for forums anymore because Tapatalk makes it so easy to be mobile.

Thanks for the help, David. I may try to boot up the computer, too, when Iím back in the house - if I can remember the forum password.
Except for kinks like this Tapatalk is very convenient for me to follow the fora.

I would think, even with Tapatalk, there must be a way to go to your control panel (User Cp) to edit your name.

I would have thought so as well. All I could find was to edit my profile which looks like this:

No where does it let me edit my signature, at least that I could find.

s7horton, (Seth),

I would have thought by now someone would have come through to help those using Tapatalk about how to edit your control panel to add your name so it shows. I can't help you with this. Maybe if you start a fresh post about Tatatalk questions someone may be able to help.

Maybe there is something useful in this search?

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)
