Iíve been a woodworker for over 20 years now. Iíve been fortunate to learn from my dad who has been at it for close to 45 years. He was a woodshop teacher while school was in, and a cabinet builder during the summer months.
I began working with solid woods, but over the last 10 years or so have really focused on veneer work. Iím sort of itching to get back into solid wood again so I started a set of dining room chairs for our family. I expect there to be a steep learning curve, which is good.
My shop is in my basement (13x26). I pack a fair amount of nice tools in there though. (Delta unisaw with sliding table, jet 16Ē planer, Powermatic 54A, delta drill press , steel city hollow chisel mortiser, etc). Just leaves me minimal room for larger projects. A couple pics below to illustrate what Iím talking about. This is a bed that I worked on for my wife and I last year.
And then the final product..
Night stands are next after the chairs are done. :)
