Smile Hi, I'm new here.

My name is Dave. For several years I've been on a similar website but the format was very different from this. I'm an old guy, retired and I'm a pretty experienced carpenter but fairly new to fine woodworking. I have a nice shop with a cabinet style table saw, a 6" jointer, a 14" band saw, a lathe, router table, etc. I'm set up to make a lot of sawdust and hopefully some beautiful furniture, toys and maybe even some art objects. I hope to be a contributor here because I love to help people solve woodworking problems as I have plenty myself.

I probably could have used some of your carpentry advice earlier today as I was installing a bookshelf into an interior wall. I did manage to get things worked out, though.

Shelf's not fully installed at this point, but the big hole in the wall that about made my wife faint is starting to look like it makes sense. I've stopped cursing now.

I'll give you a yell if I run into something unexpected again.

Welcome to the forum.
