Seeing the Wood From the Trees

Hi everyone,
Nice to find (and join) a forum on woodworking.
I'm usually a 'give it a go and see what happens' woodworker, definitely a 'That'll do woodworker' although as I grow older the adage of 'think thrice, measure twice, and cut once' does seem eminently sensible.

I've joined here as I have a question to ask and will post on the forum, but I think more might come from taking part.

I've loved wood all my life. Started making wood sculpture at 20, ran a community studio space for a few years, and then bought my own woodland. Now I have precious little time to make the things I dream of, and yet always come home with socks full of sawdust.

Thanks for sharing a place to share this passion.
P.s. I live in the beautiful green county of Devon in the UK.

Welcome to the forum, a lot of experience here

As I have gotten older my motto is measure 4 times cut the wrong size then try a couple times more LOL I'm not quite that bad but some days all I can do is cut stuff wrong

We have all cut things wrong despite overthinking and all that. Welcome to the site.
