newbie from virginia

I live in Roanoke VA now. I just got started in wood working a few weeks ago. My style is more of a log cabin look, where you can still see a log in each piece. My first project I am currently working on is a small 10X36 desk. Nothing special, just something to help me understand the tools and techniques more. I don't buy the wood I use, I go to the family farm and harvest the trees I need to build the project.

Welcome to the forum,
If I might add I am a firm believer that you learn by doing but a plan is essential to any project.

Welcome from the Midwest!

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17
