Newbie from Tampa
Hi there, my name is Scott... and I'm a newbie when it comes to fine woodworking. I've been lurking for a few months now and am finally ready to announce myself to the (woodworking) world.
I've been doing construction quality work for about 10 years now but I'm wanting to get more involved in furniture grade projects. I've built several decks, docks, seawalls, boat houses, arbors, outdoor kitchens, benches, swings, etc.
In recent years I started branching out indoors. I started with a bar, then a CD/DVD rack, then an entertainment center, murphy bed, TV console, guitar display cases, bookshelves, desks, builts ins, wine rack, etc.
I just recently "built in" our media alcove in our living room to include an electric fireplace and built in cabinets and it got me wanting more. So it was off to buy crown molding. Done. Now what? Wooden storage lockers for DVDs/games, etc. Done.
Now I'm ready to start building some "finer" pieces like tables, cabinets, hutches, etc.
I'm working on my first cutting board tonight actually. I've got a planer and jointer and I'm ready to start tearing into some maple and walnut!
Wish me luck and you can check out my old, shoddy work in my album.
