Newbie from NE Ohio

Just joined the forum, hoping to pick up some tips and learn from others.

Built my own house a long time ago, and been remodeling/renovating/redecorating ever since. All trim in the house is my own machining, all the cabinets were my own build, and it continues with an addition we put on last year. Currently, am building cabinets in the new first floor bathroom, and the laundry and mudrooms. FINALLY, put up the first two cabinets on the wall in my new 24x40 garage/work area.

That's it....I'm retired as of Jan. 1, 2009, and now spend my days in my "shop", mostly, working on my never-ending projects.

I'll see what I can do on photo's. The "shop" is the 24x20 section of the large garage, and when the old garage existed (before demolition to add the rooms and new garage), I had put all my equipment on casters/bases as I had to continuously move it out of the way to park in there. I still have all the equipment mobilized, including the Unisaw, jointer, bandsaw, planer, dust collector, etc., but have room for a 4'x7' assembly table I built out of salvaged lumber from the "old" garage. I'd call myself an advanced D-I-Y'er, and an amateur woodworker, I think. I sure like to take the rough lumber and make it into something that LOOKS like real wood, though.

PGuy,
I'm out in your neighborhood all the time. Seems like most of the kitchens I've done in the last few years are in Strongsville. Most are within five minutes of Southpark Mall.

Yeah; Strongsville has very little non-developed property anymore, and a LOT of upscale developments. I'm about 2 miles from South Park Mall, way in the corner of the county. You probably might now Ray Jenny and/or Scott Jenny in Strongsville. Two prime contractors, and Scott did the addition work on our place. Do you have a regular supplier of hardwoods (rough) in the neighborhood?
