Newbie with lots of questions : )

Hi everyone I'm Bob, I'm a retired Marine and trying to get back into woodworking after many years off. I'm not trying any major builds just yet maybe some planter and such, And some scroll work. My first question is getting the paper pattern onto the wood. Years ago I used transfer paper and a Stylus and cant find a stylus these days. Is there betters ways now or could someone give me a heads up on finding a stylus. TY, Bob

The stylus could be whittled from wood, if necessary.

Those who say it cannot be done shouldn't interrupt the people doing it.

There are small wheel "gizmos" you get at a sewing supply center that have sharp points that pierce the paper and transfer into your wood below. Maybe that will suit your purpose, I donno? Welcome to you and thanks for your service to our country! What did you do in the Marines....

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

I use what's called a "pounce wheel". There are many different styles. You can find them at arts and craft stores, drafting supplies, and leather work supplies. They work good. Regular carbon paper works good too.
