Hello everyone. I'm a woodworking newbie that is finally going to start the woodworking shop I've wanted since a young'un.
When I was a child, my neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had a small woodshop on his farm. I would sit for hours upon hours watching in amazement at his skills. He would let me help or what I thought was help but really all I was doing was cutting up scrap pieces.
Ever since then I knew I wanted my own woodshop. Well life happened and it is now 40 years later but I am undaunted.
Please forgive any stupid questions or comments I might make, I will attempt to hold them to a minumum.

Same with my grandfather who would let you help.
"Here, sand this" and you would sand the thing for a few hours, and he would comment, "Close but keep going!"
It was nothing more than a way of keeping us kids consumed with something till we got bored of the board.
Then we would go play (out of his hair).
He was a Master Woodworker and when older I could really appreciate his fine detail.

Well, I never wanted to do fine joinery and superb finishes (I think he ruined me from wanting to do that), but I turned out being an architect/Builder, and now after decades I am making some furniture from chainsawed log cuts. Modern but with a rustic natural flair. If I can't shape it with a chainsaw and a 36 grit grinder, I'm not interested.
BUT it becomes something that gets in your blood.

Welcome.
