New Yorker here --- upstate!

My name is Billy, just joined in. Been dabbling in woodworking for about 1 year. It certainly is a newfound interest. Grew up in Central New York. My father has worked in the construction industry all his life so I grew up with a little knowledge of constructing things. My Dad never dabbled in woodworking at all but I came across the idea of woodworking after building a clothesline for my wife.

After that - I received my first woodworking book for my birthday. One birthday later I received a plate jointer from my wife.

I have been monkeying around in the shed with my growing list of tools. I have not done any "major" projects just yet - I built a number of flower boxes for my better half, built a stool for the house and now am getting ready to build a shoe rack and a changing table for our first child (expected in May).

Eventually I hope to pass the woodworking knowledge "I build", to my children! SO - I am basically here to gain more ideas, rather than offer them - for now!
