New to woodworking

Hi everyone.
I am a soon to be retired police officer in Las Vegas looking for a new hobby.
I have admired woodworking for many years.
I plan on taking up woodworking as a hobby but also to learn how to build cabinets and bookshelves.
I know it's probably late in life @ 53 to learn a whole lot but I will give it my best.
I have also signed up for woodworking classes at a small university in my little town (UNLV) to help me get started.
After browsing through this forum I see that it also will help me a lot with all the knowledgeable people here.
Hope to post soon, Larry

Welcome Larry

You don't need to post about woodworking here exclusively...we have an off Topic section. We like a good story with pictures of course.
I'm sure you know "what happens in Vegas" may or may not stay in Vegas...depending... bill

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the retirement coming up. I still have quite a few more years to go before I get there :)

Hey Larry,
Congrats on the retirement! Tried it myself once...didn't like it. I'm new here too but I've been woodworking almost half a century. Hope you like it...I know I sure do. Any help I can be just let me know.
