First off Hi I'm 22 and am interested in turning stock but never have. Live in Pennsylvania Work as a carpenter

Welcome. I 'll tell you the same thing I always tell new turners. Try and find someone close to home that already turns that can help you get started. It's a lot more fun and safer to learn the right way. If you have a local turning club, that would be a great way to get started. Most cities do. Or if you have a woodcraft store nearby, they offer classes and the sales people are usually pretty helpful. Turning can be a lifelong hobby, and at your age, you're getting a head start. It's a lot of fun and satisfaction, can be addicting, and will always give you an excuse to look at tool catalogs or visit tool stores.
