new member introduction, Onebulous

I'm living in the Tampa Bay area and after a long period of discernment, after being laid off, decided to pursue woodworking as a potential career or serious hobby. I joined one of the local wood workers clubs and have been fortunate to have found the members very generous. One gentleman has taken me on as project, I'm kind of an indentured servant, and he's sharing his knowledge and shop, and I help him around his place and with his computer. I've been slowly acquiring a set of handtools, and reading a lot about tool sharpening, joinery, the nature of wood, etc.
I'm looking forward to using this forum as a resource. Today, I'll be posting requests for advice on a couple issues I've run across with a project I've been working on lately.

Welcome from the great state of Missouri!

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

Thanks for all your welcome and well wishes. In the short time I've been a part of the forum, I've received several suggestions to solve problems I've encountered on a recent project. I definitely found a good group people to help me. Thanks.
