Hello all,

I am new to woodworking. I have just finished my first project. It is a cutting board that measures 24" x 18". It is made out of African Mahogony and Oak. I needed a cutting board big enough to hold a whole brisket. I think I did pretty good for my first ever wood project. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed. I look forward to getting to know some of you. Until next time....

Brad

I do a great deal of smokin. I am a Certified BBQ Judge, love to cook and entertain friends and family , on a cooking team. I also do BBQ catering on the side.

Cool. There is definately an art to smokin, grillin etc. I dont get to cook as much as I would like, but I do enjoy it. Most times, for me, when the food comes out good it was by accident . Sounds like you are a busy man.

I bet being a BBQ judge is fun and hard all at the same time.

Gary,

I used food grade mineral oil. I didn't want to take the chance with anything else (gotta remember I am new to the additiction of wood working). I had to put about three coats on the first two days until it absorbed it into the wood. I will continue to add it monthy or as needed.
