Talking New in Maryland

Greetings,

John from Maryland here. I recently started making Greenland style kayak paddles for myself and a local kayak retailer. This got me more interested in wood working. My only experience has been high school (1977) and college (late 70's) woodshop. I tend to build first and plan, errr, rebuild later. I have a Ridgid 3612 table saw, Porter Cable 14" band saw, Craftsman miter saw, Freud router, and various smaller power tools and hand tools. I have added photos of my recent miter saw bench and lumber storage. I still am planning a Dewalt 735 planer, a 6x48 belt sander, a router table built into my table saw, a dust collection system, and a CNC router set up for paddle making.

The miter saw table is cantilevered to allow easy cleanup/storage. It is fairly crude but it works. The lumber storage above it is also cantilevered.
