New from Louisiana

Hello everyone, My name is Mark I am a hobbiest with a long pasion for wood work and lapidary work. I am what I call semi disable.I cant hold a reguler job so I piddle and get by without help from the goverment. And along with my wifes job we make ends meet. Right now I am building rocking horses along with some birdhouse Nightlights. I will post some pictures soon.

Hello and thanks for the welcome, I live up close to Toledo Bend Lake in Many,What kind of woodwork do you do? I will try to build anything once lol.

Wow that's a ways off the beaten path... I have a good friend, although we've lost touch, who has a shop out that way... that reminds me, I missed his wedding

I mainly do classically french styled tables and armoires and such. Being new here I only have a few pics up so far...

Where in Texas do you live? I buy some lumber from a man over close to Jasper every now and then. I need to go see if he has some Oak 2x8s .

I'm from Longville, La to start with, still have some family around there and Newton, Tx. I live just outside of Lufkin now. we have a few places to get cedar and oak around here, but I'll drive up to Mt Enterprise to get most of my wood they don't have a lot of any one kind of wood, but they have a little bit of everything
