Hi Jesse, welcome to the forum! There is a lot of talent hanging out in the Woodturning section. They'll be happy to help you out. Although I do a bit of turning I'm far from an expert. What have you made so far with your lathe?

Welcome Jesse you are in a good place for questions. I will say this I was told to find a turning club in my area and or try and find someone maybe on here or in the club nearby to kind of teach the basics or help with some tricks. Trust me it's a good idea.

I'd say start firing away at the questions and if you want to look into the club or need more help with turning this is a good place also.

I'm from the tipton county area its about 30 mins south of kokomo or if your not sure where that is tiptons about an hour north in indy. But i havnt really made to many thing on it so far i mean i'v tried some table legs and just easy stuff. But honestly theres only one reason i got the lathe and it was to make wood plugs for my ear lobes. Most people look at me funny but me ears are stretched to 1 3/4in. and i cant seem to figure out how to make the plugs. There are alot of people that make them but i wanna make them for me and just to have fun but i also dont want to spend $80 on some exotic woods and mess them all up =/

Sorry man...I don't know much about turning. There are quite a few guys here that do pretty amazing things on a lathe.

Well the lip plate is pretty much the same design. Its just bigger it still has the double flare edges like the plugs.
