New in Illinois

Just signed on to the forum and located in central IL. i read some past posting before sigining on, and i see that several people started with a basic intro. So, here goes: born/raised in central Illinois, 34 years old, and have owned a home for nearly 6 years now. I have a non woodworking day job and have always enjoyed working with my hands. Since buying my home, I have built a rolling TV stand for our downstairs, several picture frames, a dresser and "matching" nightstands for our master bedroom, and completely remodeled our master bath including ceramic tiling the tub and floor. i built a work bench in the garage and have amassed a respectable lineup of tools like miter saw, new router, band saw, table saw, belt sander, etc.

joining up because i could use some help on filling some cracks in a new project, but i have thought about becoming more active in something like this now that i have some respectable tools and some increased bankroll to play with. I hope to add to the list of completed projects as time goes by

I have a Craftsman 14" bandsaw...approximately 2 years old. The owners manual & the plate on the saw saw max. 3/4"/min 1/4" blades. Has anyone ever used a 1/8" blade on this saw? Any idea why a 1/8" blade cannot be used?
