New from IL

I am from Southern IL, about 75 miles east of St. Louis, MO.

I am civil engineer by trade and a father of 2 ( 3 year old daughter and 4 month old son).

I have made some outdoor furniture for the last 6 years and other small projects, but would like to work up to building furniture and cabinets.

Other interest are garden tractors, and tractors. I cook in BBQ contest a few times a year and fire up the smoker at least monthly.

Welcome Chuck!
We look forward to seeing some of your projects!
Personally, though, don't hold back on that smoked BBQ! Your welcome to send some down this way anytime!

Hey Chuck,
Welcome from just on the other side of St. Louis.
There are some good guys here, well versed on cabinet and furniture making, that can steer you in the right direction.
Don't mention BBQ to any of the resident Texans, cause Texans they think they're the only ones that know how to BBQ.
(I'd never admit it, but most of the time the Texans I know can back it up though)

Aw, what's so tough about throwing a steak on the grill and turning the gas burner on? (Now running for cover)
